TEMPERATURE INDICATING COATINGS
REVEAL HOT SPOTS TO SIGNAL OVERHEATING

A line of protective coatings that provide a visual warning that a pipe, vessel, reactor, transfer line, and similar equipment is overheating due to failure of refractory linings or the bypassing of hot gasses is available from Dampney Company, Inc. of Everett, Massachusetts.

Dampney Thurmalox® 260 TIC Series Coatings change color at predetermined temperatures to provide a visual warning that an interior lining system has failed and indicate where corrective action is required.  Featuring a high degree of color stability, the changes occur at intervals from 25°F to 50°F, depending upon formulation, and coatings are available in colors that change permanently at predetermined increasing temperatures from 400°F to 650°F.

Self-priming and VOC compliant, Dampney Thurmalox® 260 TIC Series Coatings are offered in yellow, blue, red, and violet colors which exhibit a very sharp, easily seen color change from 25 CIElab scale Delta E units.  Suitable for application by spray, brush, or roller, these coatings provide corrosion resistance, good weathering, and UV stability, claims the firm.
